Privacy Policy

Last updated: April 27, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Mohammad Hassani d/b/a Accend (“Accend,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you use Accend websites, accounts, dashboards, downloads, applications, AI features, support, and related services.

Accend is built for private creative work. We do not sell personal information, do not run advertising or retargeting cookies at launch, and do not use your writing to train Accend models.

Information we collect

We collect the following categories of information:

  • Account information. Email address, name, sign-in details, account identifiers, and related authentication data.
  • Billing and subscription information. Payment status, plan, billing interval, Stripe customer identifiers, subscription metadata, invoices, tax information, and payment method details handled by our payment processor.
  • Downloads and device information. App version, platform, operating system version, download records, entitlement checks, and update-related information.
  • Support information. Messages, attachments, contact details, and other information you choose to send us when requesting help.
  • Diagnostics and security logs. Crash reports, performance data, app and device identifiers, IP address, browser type, timestamps, and logs needed to secure, debug, and operate the services.
  • Optional cloud AI inputs and outputs. If you use a cloud-backed AI feature, selected prompts, manuscript excerpts, source material, instructions, and generated responses may be processed to provide that feature.

Writing and AI processing

Drafts and manuscripts you create in local-first Accend products stay on your device by default. We do not sync, index, or train on your writing unless you choose a feature that clearly requires cloud processing or a future hosted feature with separate notice.

When you use optional cloud-backed AI features, the content you select or submit may be sent to vetted AI infrastructure providers to generate responses. We use those providers to operate the feature, not to sell your content or train Accend models. We also work to choose providers and settings that limit provider use of submitted content where contractually and technically available.

Diagnostics are not intended to include document contents, manuscripts, prompts, or generated writing. If you send that information to support, we will use it to respond to your request.

How we use information

We use information to:

  • provide, maintain, secure, and improve Accend products;
  • create and manage accounts, authentication, and entitlements;
  • process subscriptions, payments, invoices, and cancellations;
  • provide downloads, updates, and customer support;
  • debug crashes, monitor reliability, and prevent abuse;
  • operate local and optional cloud-backed AI features;
  • send transactional messages about your account, billing, security, or services;
  • comply with law and enforce our terms.

Cookies and similar technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies that are necessary for authentication, account sessions, billing, security, preferences, and basic site operation. We do not use advertising or retargeting cookies at launch.

How we share information

We share information with service providers that help us run Accend, including providers for authentication, payments, cloud infrastructure, optional AI infrastructure, diagnostics, and customer support. These providers may process information on our behalf subject to their contracts, privacy notices, and security practices.

We may also share information when required by law, to protect Accend, users, or others, in connection with a business transaction, or with your direction or consent. We do not sell personal information.

Retention

We keep information for as long as needed to provide the services, comply with legal and accounting obligations, resolve disputes, prevent abuse, and enforce our agreements. Retention periods vary based on the type of information and why we collected it. You may request deletion of your account information by contacting us, subject to legal, security, billing, and backup limitations.

Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your choices and privacy rights

You may update certain account information through your account. You may also contact us to request access, correction, deletion, or portability of personal information, or to object to certain processing. We will respond consistent with applicable law.

If you are a California resident, you may have rights to know, access, correct, delete, and receive information about certain data practices, and to be free from discrimination for exercising privacy rights. Accend does not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising at launch. If we later use practices that require additional notices or opt-outs, we will provide them before or when those practices begin.

Children’s privacy

Accend is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information to us, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will provide notice through the website, product, account email, or another reasonable method. We will not rely on a quiet, retroactive policy change to materially expand our rights to use your existing content for AI training or unrelated third-party sharing.
